Stephen Danko was a visual artist who lived and worked in Florida and California and was the former Associate Director of L.A. Louvre Gallery in Venice, Calfornia. He received his M.F.A. degree from Florida State University in 1974 and a National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship in 1980. Since 1993 he received several commissions for the Art in Public Places Program for the State of Florida.
Mr. Danko has exhibited internationally and has works in numerous art museum collections throughout the United States, including The George Eastman House, The San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, University of California, Santa Barbara, Lehigh University, Albright College and the Museum of Fine Arts, St. Petersburg.
His work is featured in J. Greene's 1984 book "American Photography" published by Harry N. Abrams, New York.
PLEASE NOTE: A two part exhibition of Mr. Danko's work titled "Looking Back - in Two Parts" has been curated by his friend and fellow artist Dr. John Wilton and is currently on view at the Museum of Florida Art in Deland, Florida.
